I'd never noticed this 'Post Title' bit before!

I've watched 12 episodes of Dexter in 2 days. That's 12 hours! And that's not even all I've watched! The problem with Netflix is that it just plays the next episode without you even having to ask it, its like they never ever want me to leave them.

Buuuutt while it's true that I have spent hours and hours sitting on my arse, I have actually been doing lots of creative things for the business. I made millions of Fimo beads...
Hey! Why don't you follow me on Instagram?

Since my dolly mixture bracelets seem to sell so well I thought it'd probably be a good idea to make some more kitsch jewellery ("Smell what sells"- Lord Sugar). So, the bows and roses got transformed into these...

Take a closer look on my Facebook page if you fancy it

In other news: I took a trip to the mysterious wholesaler which is a magical place, despite not quite measuring up to the grandiose image I'd gradually built up in my head of it. I bought all sorts of metallicy things: jump rings, studs and backs, hair grips, plastic bags and more- all by the million. So I'm planning on expanding my stock selection considerably!
I also now have Fauves business cards in a little handmade box. Next time however I think I won't handwrite my details onto each individual card, I got a very achey hand, in the future I'll employ my printing skills instead.

I've been getting a bit more into Pinterest (I've even added 'pin-it' buttons to my blog images! Snazzy). But I'd love to hear from you more seasoned Pinterest users! Tell me about your pinning strategy: where do you find great images to pin (outside Pinterest)? How do you categorise your boards? Why do you find Pinterest useful?

  1. Hi Kat! Cute earrings! I love working with Fimo, mostly I make tiles for mosaics with it. I love Pinterest as well I get images from all over the place online, blogs, newsgroups, google image search, google plus, thanks to my handy pin it widget thing on my toolbar, I can pin anything. Using Pinterest is great. I'm thinking of incorporating it into my blog as well, pin it party or something of that nature. Check out my boards if you like, lets connect there... 2. You had me at Dexter. :-) I love me some Dexter Morgan.

Those bow earrings are really cute. Love the little pearl at the bottom. I really need to get back to using Fimo. What do you use for glazing it? Maybe your next post could be a quick tutorial. :-)

    1. It's such a great show! That last episode of series 1 was so tense!

I'm so glad you like them! I actually don't glaze them just put them in the oven to harden them up. What do you find the benefits of glazing them to be?

  4. I love Netflix and do the same. If I'm not working in Photoshop or Illustrator (or trying to) I have Netflix on. The earrings are adorable and you did such a perfect job with them. Woot woot. I'm looking around for motivation. Had a blah week but still wish the best for you and all. YOU WILL DO GREAT. I agree with Rita. Have a fab rest of the week. Madeline Faiella

  5. Oh, Kat, I love your earrings. They are so pretty and the colors are gorgeous! I know you will do well with your business. Thanks so much for sharing. I am not an artist so I enjoy seeing the projects that people work on. I can't even sew a button on my blouse! LOL! Have a fabulous day!

  9. I have the DVD's sitting here for Dexter. My daughter and SIL think I should watch it. I have the new season here waiting for me too. I have been afraid to get started for fear of it sucking me in and nothing else getting done! But maybe I just need to find something for my hands to do while I watch. Thanks for the inspiration.

  11. Such a great use of multi-tasking! I'm not as active on pinterest as much as I am IG, I do have boards but I'm not on there enough

  12. I manage at least four Pinterest accounts -- my private one, my scrapbook retreat account, and two for other employers. For my retreat one, I make boards for a variety of topics: scrapbook layouts, cards, technique tutorials, things to make for teachers/classmates, sometimes papercrafting-heavy holidays like Christmas and Halloween and Valentine's Day. I also have a board of recipes I serve at the retreat house. Try to think of every way you can link back to your website or blog and put on those pins. I also have pictures of the house. And a board I call "retreat housekeeping" for cleaning and decorating tips I want to remember.

  15. I love your little creations! Did you see the last episode of Dexter yet? I saw it yesterday and am still in a weird mood today! Us crafty types are a bit too impressionable!

    1. How kind of you to stop by and say :)! No, it seems to be never ending!! I'm only on series 6 and I feel like I've been watching it forever! Oh yes I can definitely sympathise with that- I bawled my eyes out all the way through the episode before last of Breaking Bad!
